about Suzanne Newman

Suzanne Newman, whose business, which began in 2004, has grown quickly by word of mouth, has become a real friend to many women, and some men as well. Her talent is transitions: helping her clients make good choices so they feel good about themselves all the time. From moms re-entering the work world, to divorced men and women who are ready to date again; even women who are overwhelmed with kids, carpools and careers have benefitted from Suzanne Newman’s help. Suzanne’s compassion and empathetic heart are what really draws in her clients. She shows them how to transition with a very gentle and sensitive attitude.

Her demeanor comes from her own background and experience. Newman overcame a difficult childhood with an abusive mother and left home at age 15 to live with an older brother. Although she almost dropped out of high school, a teacher intervened and secured early college admission for her.

She later worked as an account representative for Liz Claiborne before beginning a career as a freelance makeup artist. Suzanne was constantly helping her friends choose makeup, hairstyles and clothing perfect for their shape and size.

In 2004 Suzanne experienced a shattering divorce and all the life transitions that come with it. So she did what she now helps others do: she made herself over. After much soul-searching, a Women’s Exchange life-planning workshop and support from her teenage daughter, she started her own style consulting business. Her first client was from one of these groups, and her business has grown exponentially from there.

The word of mouth referrals have been wonderful. Friends who see friends at parties with a new “glow” or who look a little more “put together” share the secret of Suzanne Newman.

Suzanne Newman is the real deal. She’s comfortable and friendly, empathetic and helpful. She’s as happy recommending a dress she saw at Old Navy as she is suggesting one from Nordstrom’s. She teaches you makeup tips. She explains why the jacket you love just doesn’t “do it.” She pulls clothes off hangers and throws them into piles: one for alterations, one for charity, one for the cleaners; and one for the trash can. She’s been known to tell some clients that their underwear just doesn’t fit right. If you want, she’ll take you shopping. Or she’ll swing by your place to see what you found and confirm that it works for you. She’ll sit on your bed, have a laugh and share life stories. When she leaves, you feel lighter, more organized, energized and excited. And you know what? Suzanne does too.
